AI – Assistants

Motivation, reflection, and learning are key to success at a university for students. While chatbots in 2022 were often disappointing as scripted conversation partners in dialogue, today’s AI chatbots are surprisingly powerful. We call them not AI-Chatbots but AI-Assistants, to emphasize the difference to older Chatbot-generations. Our AI assistants are meant to have a character, meaning they should have an appearance, a voice, and a style of speech, while still being clearly recognizable as non-human. Currently, SMARTA includes three AI assistants: Alix, Robyn and Dr. Melly.
