The SMARTA project, short for ‚STUDENT MOTIVATION AND REFLECTIVE TRAINING AI-ASSISTANTS,‘ utilizes artificial intelligence to address the Two Sigma Problem, a phenomenon where students receiving one-on-one tutoring perform significantly better than those in traditional classroomsettings. The SMARTA project represents a potential approach to reducing educationaldisparities, suggesting that AI-driven personalized tutoring could be a key strategy in higher education.
